Doctors or Licensed Killers?

Indian tradition considers doctors to be images of the Lord because they infuse life to a dying person. Till two decades back, this image continued to live. What remains now is a totally different and very ugly shaped image.

Doctors of olden days were humane, life loving, not very much interested in luxury and amassing wealth and used to lead a dharmic life.

Doctors of today are monsters. Their sole aim is to grab as much money as possible without paying any concern to dharma. They are least interested in the welfare of the patient. They have daily targets in money grabbing, like brokers and agents. They prescribe unnecessary tests, differ with one another in opinion, are full of egoism and bent upon draining the patients' purse.

Such a pious occupation has become so degraded and heinous that no one respects a doctor nowadays whole heartedly. Doctors are like lepers or parasites on society. All values have deserted them. Their only and one aim is to earn the fast buck by hook or by crook.

In India, death by medical negligence is too common. And law is lame in India. Any one can buy law if he has enough money and political leverage. Law applies only to common man here. The rich and powerful are above law. This is the sad truth. So the common man's refuge is theory of Karma wrongly understood. They think it is their fate and a doctor should not be blamed for negligence. That is where a negligent doctor happily finds an escape and continues to thrive with the ignorant populace.

What a great profession! How pitiable it has become!! Can India hope to have humane and selfless doctors even in the coming 200 years? In all probability it is doubtful.

Dogs do bark

No animal can cross the limits of its nature. It is natural for dogs to bark. And now an old dog is barking. There is no wonder if it barks seeing an ugly figure. But it barks on Sree Rama who is worshiped all over India as Incarnation of the Supreme God. That is the wonder. How poor is this dogs fate?

Any devoted Hindu who saw Karunanidhi in the TV channels commenting on Sri Rama could not help visualising him as one of the Raakshasas, demons of Ravanas fold. Only demons hate Sri Rama. Karunanidhi looks like an ugly dacoit in his googles. He looks to be blind. I use to wonder whether he is blind. Now i am convinced that he is not only defective in his eyesight, he is blind in his soul. What a stupidity to brand Sri Rama as a drunkard, that too quoting Valmiki!!!. Such idiots who know nothing about our sacred books are chief ministers in this country. That is the fate of Indians.

He brags that he recites Tirukkural every day. Avvayyar would have died of shame on seeing such people taking shelter under this wonderful book. At many places Tirukkural warns man on loose talk. It says that tongue has to be used very carefully after due consideration of what is spoken. Karunanidhi may be a regular reader of Tirukkural, but it is clear that he seldom practises what the book teaches. Mere recitation of books without practice has become the bane of all religions. This poor fellow is not an exception.

This blind fellow never remembers the most excellent qualities of Sri Rama that are extolled by sage Valmiki at innumerable places throughout Ramayana, but a stray reference to the food habits of a kshatriya king attracts his attention to the exclusion of everything else. May be blind fellow is in search of liquor and craving to have it all the time, that is why he sees only that in Ramayana. It is well known that what we crave that we see all around us. Poor fellow!! He is exposing himself unnecessarily.

Many people in India like to connect themselves not with Rama, Krishna,Siva or Devi who are India's deities. Instead they draw pleasure in identifying with Muhammad or Abraham and their lineage. Why should they continue to live in India and condemn its culture and tradition?
Let them go and settle in Gaza strip or in Arabia, leaving India to its meek Hindus who never raise a voice even when their gods are insulted.

I remember the great sage Swami Vivekananda who opined 100 years ago that Hindus are under the grip of total tamas althewhile thinking it to be pure sattva. His words are true even today. The tamas is not leaving us easily.

what a poor response even when Lord Rama is openly criticized in TV channels. Tamil goondas are clearly the successors of Ravana.

When will Hindus learn to be proud of their culture and tradition and gods?

Todays India

Todays India

The first thought that stirs up in any sensible Indians mind today is Whither India is moving. This idea automatically calls forth a comparison between India that was and India that is. A comparison that sinks the heart. A prayer comes out spontaneously... Oh God. Save this glorious land from the clutches of corrupt politicians and their henchmen the corrupt officials and equally corrupt citizens. Sounds pessimistic. Not so. This is the real picture of present India.

India of the (g)olden days. Rich in culture, in divine wisdom, in art and science, in material as well as spiritual advancement. Its heroes who never tried to conquer other nations by force. Its great personalities, the ancient maharishis, the avatars like Rama and Krishna, great prophets like the Buddha, Mahavira and its innumerable saints, great and righteous kings and equally good citizens.

Compare this with todays India. A country ruled by devilishly corrupt politicians, supported by equally corrupt officials and tolerated by helpless citizens. If there is any law and order in India, it is only based on intrinsic good nature of some of its citizens, because there is no law and order virtually. Police are hopelessly corrupt. The law makers are the law breakers in this country.

Merit is the first casualty in this country. That is the reason for brain drain. The society is beset with a host of ills like casteism, regionalism, various creeds, religious fundamentalism, the much debated reservation policy, political interference in all matters, lawlessness in society, lack of civic sense among its subjects so on and so forth, to mention a few of them.

What happened to the India of Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda, Ramana Maharshi, Sri Aurobindo, Paramahamsa Yogananda?

The worst tragedy is that the common man has become hopelessly corrupt, being surrounded by corruption on all sides for years together. A country where theft was unknown, telling lies was not thought of, where the great principles of Satya, Ahimsa and Dharma ruled the kings and the citizens is no longer here. Instead we now see a devilish society all around. India is no longer a safe country to live in. This is becoming increasingly true every day. And corruption is the true god worshipped here nowadays.

And every sensible Indan's mind is perturbed by these thoughts and problems which defy solutions at least for the present. Unless some miracle happens this country is going to dogs.

O God save this glorious country, please.
